Flight Procedure Design Manager

FPD Manager is a tool for the Manager/Chief Designer to manage specialist resources, their qualification/certification records, initial, OJT, recurrent and refresher training records and requirements. For each project, assign a procedure designer and independent reviewer, assign project timelines, and monitor ongoing tasks against the project timeline.
To ensure data integrity during transfer, the application relies on acquiring aeronautical data and obstacle and terrain data from identified authorized sources such as AIP. When required, the data output from the application is also wrapped in CRC to ensure data integrity during transfer.

Procedure Design

Procedure design allows the assigned designer to initiate the design project and access data acquisition tools. Design tools can include procedure path construction, protection area construction, obstacle/terrain assessment and MOCA determination. When the procedure design activity is completed, a system-generated technical report can be produced comprising details of data used in procedure construction, procedure description, segment-wise details and MOCA with protection area images, waypoint details list, detailed list of significant obstacle/terrain points, procedure description, ARINC424 coding table and procedure charts.

Ground Validation

The procedure designer can assign the project for an independent review within the application. The assigned independent reviewer is alerted of the project transfer. With the project transfer, the independent reviewer can access the design file with the data, technical report, chart, and ARIC424 coding table.
To review in a structured manner, the independent reviewer is presented with an online checklist. Upon reviewing an element in the checklist, the independent reviewer can submit the result.

Flight Validation

FPDO can share relevant procedure documents with the airline company conducting the validation. The concerned validation company can access this module on a handheld device, such as an iPad. The module displays the required validation proforma, which can be filled out and submitted to the FPDO.
